The purpose of the Swiss FinTech Awards is to promote Swiss fintech innovators and to contribute to the strong Swiss fintech ecosystem. The Awards specifically recognize outstanding fintech start-ups and fintech influencers. The winners are chosen by a renowned jury consisting of 20 fintech experts. This year’s winners are FQX, Yokoy and Cornelia Stengel.

Thomas holds a Master’s degree from the University of St. Gallen and a PhD from the University of Lausanne. He founded several companies and has broad experience as CEO and board member of various companies in the financial industry. He is currently engaged in FinTech and Asset Management research at the Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts.

Valentin Ade (33) ist seit April 2015 Redaktor bei „Finanz und Wirtschaft“. Er schreibt über Banken in der Schweiz, den Finanzplatz allgemein und die Digitalisierung der Branche im Speziellen. Daneben moderiert er verschiedene Konferenzen von FuW sowie externe Anlässe und Diskussionsrunden. Valentin Ade stieg 2005 bei der Badischen Zeitung in Rheinfelden in den Journalismus ein, ab August 2010 arbeitete er bis zu seinem Wechsel zu FuW für das Wirtschafsressort der Basler Zeitung. The Swiss FinTech Innovation Lab is a cross-disciplinary research program on the global phenomenon of innovation in the financial industry induced by "Financial Technology” (FinTech). It involves researchers from banking and finance, business informatics, innovation management, strategic management, marketing, social sciences, economics, and many other disciplines.

The lab`s goal is to conduct research on the topic of digitisation in the financial services industry together with participants from the whole value chain, including banks, insurers, providers, regulators, and various other organizations and associations from the FinTech ecosystem. Hosted at the University of Zurich, the Swiss FinTech Innovation Lab cooperates with a broad national and international network of universities like for example ETH Zurich, University of St. Gallen, MIT, Harvard, Stanford and many others.

Who should apply for the Swiss FinTech Awards 2021?

All fintech start-ups with a Swiss connection are eligible. This can include, for example Swiss founders (active in Switzerland and/or abroad) or organizations with a Swiss head office. All sorts of fintech verticals (Crowdfunding, Crypto, Insurance, Investing and Asset Management, Payments, RegTech, Security, WealthTech etc.) are eligible. We group the applicants in early stage and growth stage start-ups.
